Latin America outbound student market flourishes
In recent years the Latin America outbound student market has flourished. Partly due to proactive strategies implemented by a well organised regional community of student recruitment agents, all levels of overseas education have benefited.
At ICEF Latin America 2022 this growth resulted in an event that was energised and optimistic as delegates representing 346 organisations came together.
Altogether 478 individuals from 30 countries attended. Together they held a total of 3,297 in-person and virtual meetings over the course of three days.
Who joined us at ICEF Latin America 2022?
A total of 162 educators representing 122 institutions from 18 countries joined the event – 134 in person in São Paulo, and 28 remotely. Of these, 35% were attending ICEF Latin America for the first time, and for 5%, this was their first ICEF event.
Agents came from 16 countries, with the top five being: Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina and Chile. In total, 262 pre-screened agents attended, representing 197 organisations. Of those, 59% held top management positions, and 11% were attending a focused Latin America event for the first-time.
ICEF Latin America also welcomed 33 representatives from 22 organisations covering 12 industry sectors relevant to overseas study.
At ICEF Latin America 2022, we presented a full programme of 19 seminars, presentations and on-demand webinars, covering a range of topics including: ‘Back in business – a panel discussion with agents from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Bolivia’, ‘The recovery of the Brazilian international education market after the pandemic’, and ‘Connecting with the U.S. diplomatic mission in Brazil to expand your network’.
