In addition to choosing what and where to study, one of the most significant challenges international students face is access to appropriate finance options, covering expenses such as accommodation, cost of living, tuition, travel, and immigration costs. As a result, student recruitment agencies worldwide, altogether responsible for millions of international student enrolments each year, are actively seeking to build new partnerships with finance providers across all major study destinations in North America and Canada.

With private finance companies expanding their offers for international students, a whole new financial model is emerging. Key features include

    • A loan system where international students can access funds without a co-signatory, or even collateral.
    • A focus on future earning potential (determined according to carefully structured algorithms).
    • A range of attractive interest rates and payment plans designed to support student access to the opportunities of international education.

In response to the changing face of international student finance, we are pleased to introduce ICEF Finance: the world’s first-ever agent networking conference, bringing student recruitment and student finance professionals together under one roof for a unique opportunity to network, learn and build partnerships.

ICEF Finance starts with a networking brunch at 10:00. The exhibitor pavilion opens at 10:30: here the key stakeholders in international student finance can meet and interact with the ICEF North America / ICEF Finance delegates.

The sessions, presentations and panel discussions take place from 11:00 – 19:00 and are also live streamed to a global audience of student recruitment professionals. The agenda will feature topics such as:

  • Fintech innovations and international education: synergies and solutions
  • Budget management: the tools that international students need for a stress-free study abroad experience
  • Access to a local bank account in the USA and Canada: an overview of hurdles and solutions
  • How AI and digital innovations help increase access to student loans
  • Exploring the labyrinth of student insurance: what’s available, what’s required, what’s compulsory
  • International students as customers: understanding their specific financing needs
