About this Workshop

There is no comparable event in terms of size and opportunity anywhere in the world – the ICEF Berlin Workshop is the leading international education focused networking forum and a must-attend event for all industry professionals.

In 2016, the workshop welcomed 2 444 participants. In total, 1 032 education agents travelled to Berlin for three days of one-to-one pre-scheduled meetings, seminars and networking with 1 412 international educators, service providers, industry associations, and work and travel organisations. Overall, industry professionals from 100 countries participated in a record-breaking 27 267 on-site business meetings.

Berlin workshop participants may also attend various seminars, expert panels, and presentations each providing valuable insights into the latest trends and research affecting international education. In addition, workshop attendees benefit from numerous informal networking opportunities including lunches, coffee breaks, a cocktail reception and an official gala dinner. These social events give participants the chance to make further contacts and extend business relationships on a more personal level.

Meeting Booking System

The ICEF meeting booking system offers participants direct and total control over the types of partners – by main activity and country of origin – they meet during the workshop. Up to 40 meetings can be scheduled with agents, educators and service providers that are 25 minutes in duration.

1. Prior to the workshop, details of all invited agents, educators and service providers are supplied via the Marcom eSchedule PRO online appointment scheduling system.
2. During the workshop, additional meetings and schedule adjustments can be made through Marcom Onsite or personal contact.

Online Video Tutorials

Our online video tutorials explain how to get the most from the eSchedule PRO meeting booking system. We highly recommend viewing these videos as soon as the meeting scheduling system opens, around 8 weeks prior to the event.

An integral benefit of attending an ICEF Workshop is participation in the seminar programme. These seminars provide invaluable information and the latest research on trends affecting the world of international education, both regionally and globally.

PROPOSAL FORM for FAM Tours and Receptions / Berlin

FAM Tours & Receptions

Agent familiarisation (FAM) tours and receptions are excellent ways for you to gain exposure and promote your institution and / or association to workshop registered agents.

FAM tours allow you to take advantage of the large number of agents attending the workshop and attract them to visit your institution, campus and region. Effective FAM tours enable agents to increase their product knowledge and bring back first hand experience to potential students.

FAM Tour guidelines:

  • FAM tour organisers may determine all logistics, conditions and costs associated with their tour, including which workshop participants are accepted to join, and which are not.
  • ICEF will not get involved in the organisation of FAM tours, but simply ensure relevancy for workshop participants as well as an equal representation of tours to all delegates.
  • All delegates interested in attending FAM tours will be asked to make direct contact with the tour organiser. Organisers are responsible for confirming or declining acceptance directly with participants.
  • FAM tour organisers wishing to promote their tour through ICEF are required to submit a proposal. All proposals are subject to approval by ICEF.
  • FAM tours may only be offered outside of workshop related activities and times.
  • Only organisations attending the workshop may meet and host other workshop participants. We do not wish to encourage non-registered institutions to access and benefit from meeting potential business partners that workshop registered organisations have paid to meet.

Reception guidelines:

Receptions allow you to host agents in a memorable way while reinforcing your brand. Inviting the agents that you wish to target gives you the chance to make meaningful and focused connections in a relaxed and fun environment.

  • Reception organisers may determine all logistics, conditions and costs associated with their event, including which workshop participants and other business partners are accepted to join, and which are not.
  • ICEF will not get involved in the organisation of receptions, but simply ensure relevancy for workshop participants as well as an equal representation of receptions to all delegates.
  • All workshop participants interested in attending a reception will be asked to make direct contact with the reception organiser. Organisers are responsible for confirming or declining acceptance directly with participants.
  • Reception organisers wishing to promote their event through ICEF are requested to provide information as outlined on the ICEF website.
  • Receptions may only be offered outside of workshop related activities and times.
  • Only organisations attending the workshop may meet and host other workshop participants. We do not wish to encourage non-registered institutions to access and benefit from meeting potential business partners that workshop registered organisations have paid to meet.

Promotion

Once your proposal has been accepted by ICEF, we will promote your event to assist you in attracting the quantity and variety of agents desired.

Your FAM tour or reception will be listed in this section of the website along with your contact details, hyperlinks and / or promotional materials. ICEF will also promote your event to all attending agents once their registration has been approved, as well as in numerous follow-up communications prior to the workshop.

Please provide ICEF with a website hyperlink and / or a brochure / flyer / invitation (pdf format) containing the following information:

  • Name of activity
  • Host name and contact details
  • Details of the event including program, location, date and time, inclusions such as food and transportation, invited target groups / individuals and maximum number of participants

Please note: Proposals received less than 4 weeks prior to the event will be listed on the website but will no longer be published in any other agent communications.

Location:
Berlin
Invited:
All
Programme:
To coincide with the ICEF Berlin Workshop 2017, the British Council, the UK’s international cultural relations organisation, is offering the following training opportunity for education agents: BRITISH COUNCIL CERTIFICATE FOR AGENTS
We have been successfully running the foundation level course since 2006. It is aimed at education agents, career advisors and student counsellors and is designed to increase their capacity to provide accurate and up-to-date advice on the UK education system, courses and qualifications, course fees and scholarships, application procedures, and the overall benefits of studying and living in the UK.
The course is an excellent opportunity for agents to develop their ability to provide high quality information, resources and services to students seeking an international education. It will also give them the skills to source relevant information and update their knowledge about studying in the UK. Most importantly, it will enable them to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to communicate effectively with partner institutions in the UK.
This is a unique opportunity to attend the face-to-face introductory workshop on 27 October 2017 - just before ICEF Berlin. The rest of the course is then delivered online and is assessed by a professional development record and formal written exam. Successful candidates are eligible to be listed on the British Council's Global Agents List.
The course fee is £600 (incl. VAT).

“Always a great workshop, very well organised and very well attended. Amazing team and amazing organisation for the number of attendees, the size of the workshop, no other workshop can compete with ICEF Berlin. ICEF Berlin is really the place to be in our language industry.” - Giorgia Biccelli, LINGUAVIVA, Italy.

“ICEF Berlin was great, especially the Study Destination Seminar. It was really useful for me, in particular the case study from the State of Victoria. I am so glad that our Malaysia Ministry officials were there, too. Agent quality was fantastic!” - Wai Cheng Lau, ELC English Language Company, Malaysia.

“As a first time participant at an ICEF event and a new user of agents’ services, this workshop really exceeded my expectations. I can honestly say that each agent I interviewed was well-prepared and taught me something about agent partnerships. This event was also excellent for establishing contacts with other education institutions and I truly feel that I have started some lasting relationships. Lastly, as a first-timer, I found the mentor program extremely useful. I will definitely attend more agent workshops with ICEF.” - Nicole Wittenborg, Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College, Denmark.

“Exceptional job managing a massive volume of people, locations, and events. This is my third ICEF event and I’m always impressed by how seamlessly the process runs given the enormous number of people involved. It is clear that the organization and facilitation is expertly handled.” - Monica Vitale, Marianapolis Preparatory School, USA.

“ICEF Berlin 2016 was the first workshop for us. It has been hugely successful and I can’t thank the ICEF team enough. They helped and supported us a lot to launch the new school and the platform at ICEF Berlin was the best place for us to spread the news. We’re already full for 2017!” - Aoife Govern, Apollo Language Centre, Ireland.
