FAM Tours and Receptions

FAM Tours and Receptions are both excellent ways for you to promote your organisation to other event attendees. This is an opportunity for you to reinforce your brand and lift your profile. You have full control over every aspect of your event, making it as unique and memorable as you like.

Once your proposal submission has been approved, we’ll post the details under the “Available FAM Tours and Receptions” section below, for potential attendees to contact you directly.

  • FAM tour organisers may determine all logistics, conditions and costs associated with their tour, including which event participants are accepted to join, and which are not.
  • ICEF will not get involved in the organisation of FAM tours, but simply ensure relevancy for event participants as well as an equal representation of tours to all delegates.
  • All delegates interested in attending FAM tours will be asked to make direct contact with the tour organiser. Organisers are responsible for confirming or declining acceptance directly with participants.
  • FAM tour organisers wishing to promote their tour through ICEF are required to submit a proposal. All proposals are subject to approval by ICEF.
  • FAM tours may only be offered outside of event related activities and times.
  • Reception organisers may determine all logistics, conditions, and costs associated with their event, including acceptance criteria for event participants and other business partners.
  • ICEF will not get involved in organising receptions, but will ensure receptions are relevant for event participants and offer an equal number of receptions to all delegates.
  • All event participants interested in attending a reception will be asked to make direct contact with the organiser. Organisers are responsible for confirming or declining acceptance directly with participants.
  • Receptions may only be offered outside of event-related activities and times.

Applications are invited for a familiarisation tour for agents to visit Te Pūkenga New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology | NMIT in Nelson, New Zealand at the conclusion of ICEF ANZA 2024.

Schedule:

Thursday 25th April
6pm Dinner at a local restaurant showcasing the very best of the seafood and horticulture of the Nelson Marlborough region

Friday 26th April
9am Depart hotel for NMIT Nelson campus visit
Morning: Tour the Nelson campus and receive an overview of the unique course offerings available at NMIT
12:30pm: Enjoy lunch at one of Nelson's best restaurants
Afternoon: Visit some key tourist sites in the Nelson region

Inclusions:
- One way flight from Christchurch to Nelson on Wednesday 24th April or Thursday 25th April
- Accommodation for the night of Thursday 25th April (and Wednesday 24th April, if flying into Nelson on the Wednesday evening)
- Dinner on Thursday 25th April and Lunch on Friday 26th April

Agents attending ICEF ANZA 2024 in Christchurch, New Zealand are invited to express their interest in participating in a pre-ICEF FAM Tour to Darwin.

Experience and learn about:
• The Northern Territory’s quality international education and training providers and their course offerings
• Tourism and cultural activities, such as Aboriginal cultural experiences and crocodile encounters
• Darwin’s sunset, culinary hotspots and the cosmopolitan Waterfront Precinct
• Meet with international students studying in the Northern Territory!

Inclusions:
• Airfare from Darwin to Christchurch post FAM Tour to attend ICEF ANZA*
• Darwin airport transfers, and transport to and from scheduled activities while in the Northern Territory
• Up to 4 nights' accommodation and meals during the FAM Tour in Darwin.

*Agents will be required to make their own way to Darwin and arrange their visas to Australia.

Ki Uta Ki tai - from the Mountains to the Sea, Experience Southern New Zealand - FULLY BOOKED

Haere mai ki te Ōtākou me Murihiku! We welcome you to Otago and Southland in southern New Zealand.

Day 1 - 2:
Starting in Ōtepoti Dunedin a creative city with education and tech at its core. Dunedin is a compact city with rich heritage surrounded by nature. Its student culture and diverse population offer unique learning experiences – inside and outside the classroom. The University of Otago, the oldest in the country, has been ranked in the Top 10 most beautiful campuses internationally and is located in the tertiary hub of the city alongside Otago Polytechnic Te Pūkenga. From world-class higher degrees in health science, design and creative arts, to improving your English language, the city’s safe and vibrant community makes Dunedin the perfect place to learn and begin your career journey in your chosen field.

Day 3: Spend time in Waihōpai Invercargill, founded in the 1850s, it is one of the southernmost cities in the world. Invercargill services the productive primary industries of Southland and is renowned for innovation, sporting and cultural excellence. Home to the Southern Institute of Technology and excellent secondary schools, graduates of Invercargill’s education system are working all over the world.

Day 4: From Invercargill we will travel to Te Anau to stay at a secondary school lodge rich with recreation and adventure opportunities. Outdoor education is a significant part of all student’s experience and in the southern region nowhere is far from beautiful wilderness adventures.

Day 5-6: Ending in Queenstown where Queenstown Resort College, the Southern Institute of Technology and the University of Otago deliver specialist programmes and local secondary schools make use of the regions strong tourism, viticulture and outdoors industries to offer unique educational opportunities. Queenstown’s stunning location, international feel and acceptance of other cultures creates a welcoming environment for all students.

Study Dunedin welcomes agents attending ICEF ANZA to experience our dynamic region, meet passionate educators and enjoy our spectacular landscapes on this 6-day famil.

Please note:
A domestic flight to Dunedin will be arranged by the organiser, whilst the agents are required to make their own way back to Christchurch from Queenstown International Airport. Accommodation is organised from April 15 – April 20, however, if you wish to extend your stay in Queenstown, please let us know when your participation is confirmed.

Whanganui and New Plymouth – A Four Day Famil of the two Finalists of the Most Beautiful Small Cities in New Zealand - FULLY BOOKED

This is your chance to come and experience the two finalists of Most Beautiful Small Cities in New Zealand. You'll get a chance to experience why students flourish in these two cities and the wonderful things they can see and do.

Day 1 – You’ll be picked up at Whanganui Airport and taken for an official welcome at Te Ao Hou Marae by the Whanganui and Partners team. Enjoy lunch at a local eatery then enjoy some tours around Whanganui at the Regional Museum, New Zealand Glassworks, and a Driving Tour of the city. Finish the day with a dinner with Mayor Andrew Tripe.

Day 2 – Spend the morning touring around Whanganui schools, followed by lunch in the city. In the afternoon, get a chance to experience the New Zealand Commercial Pilot Academy as well as their flight simulator. Sit back and be transferred to your hotel in New Plymouth along the State Highway 3 with a stunning view of Mount Taranaki and the beautiful countryside along the way.

Day 3 – Start your morning with an official welcome by the Venture Taranaki team, followed by a driving tour of New Plymouth including guided tours around The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, the Coastal Walkway, Puke Ariki Museum and the CBD. Enjoy lunch at an award winning restaurant, followed by some beach hopping, and visits to some picturesque spots of New Plymouth, such as the Te Rewa Rewa Bridge, Puke Kura Park and the Bowl of Brooklands.

Day 4 – Start the day with some school visits and a chance to check out the Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS) followed by a trip to the Tawhiti Museum and finish your day with a trip up Mount Taranaki for either a picnic or lunch at the Stratford Mountain House. Be transferred to the airport for a flight to Christchurch to relax before ANZA.
