It will provide actionable insights for recruitment professionals that are based on the most fundamental questions of all: why do students choose to study abroad, what are their goals, and what is most important to them about their experience overseas?

Much has been made of the shifting patterns of interest that have resulted in the number of popular study destinations expanding from a “big four” to, potentially, a “big fourteen”. With student preferences evolving to take in a range of practical concerns ranging from affordability to proximity, as well as a surge in anti-immigration policy decisions across the world’s historically popular study destinations, it is clear that the international student recruitment landscape offers more opportunities than ever before, as well as considerable challenges.

In this special, all-agent panel, we explore the changing global trends from an agent perspective. With insights drawn from personal experience, the panel not only offers a ground-level view of shifting student preferences, but also valuable tips on how to approach the increasingly challenging visa application processes of the “big four” study destinations.

Recent research reveals a critical challenge facing higher education: 60% of employers report that graduates lack the practical skills needed in the workplace, and graduates themselves agree—48% feel unprepared to even apply for entry-level positions in their field. As international students increasingly prioritise employability and career outcomes, universities must fundamentally rethink programme design—aligning curriculum with actual company requirements and labour market demands from day one, not just focusing on post-graduation placement.

This session explores curriculum architecture that systematically develops the complete graduate: academically strong, professionally skilled, and personally equipped for career success. Using SRH University's CORE study model as a practical framework, we'll examine how to map industry competencies to learning outcomes, embed skills development throughout coursework, and create programmes that respond to evolving employer needs.

Many organizations celebrate when sales numbers go up. But real growth is not only about bringing in more students or clients. If other parts of the business don’t grow at the same pace (such as operations, support, or systems) success can quickly turn into stress.

During this presentation we will talk about the hidden side of scalability. Why do some schools and agencies feel overwhelmed after strong sales results? What are the common mistakes leaders make when planning growth? And most importantly, how can you prepare your business to grow smoothly and sustainably?

You will learn:

  • Why focusing only on sales can create problems in quality and delivery.
  • How to recognize the first signs that your organization is not scaling in balance.
  • The key areas (people, processes, and systems) that must grow together with sales.
  • Practical tips to build stronger foundations before pushing for more numbers.

This session will help you see growth in a new way. Instead of chasing sales at any cost, you will discover how to create a balanced growth strategy that protects quality, supports your team, and makes long-term success possible.

Whether you’re leading a team, managing operations, or driving business development, this session will help you rethink growth beyond sales and build a framework for scaling smarter.

The modern student housing market is undergoing a fundamental transformation, moving far beyond the standardised university dorm. Driven by the demands of a diverse, global student body, rising costs, and a heightened focus on well-being, students are actively seeking accommodations that offer a perfect blend of privacy, community, and convenience. The challenge for universities is simple: How do they house an ever-growing student population while ensuring that their living environment actively supports their academic and social success?

This panel gathers leaders from four pioneering accommodation models—from the hyper-amenitized world of Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA), to the community focus of the Coliving sector, the urban integration of Mixed-Use developments, and the crucial cultural support offered by Homestay programs.

The panel will be split into 3 parts:

Part 1: The Global Student's Blueprint: What do international students prioritise in their selection of accommodation?

Part 2: The New Housing Portfolio: A Format Breakdown: From the high-amenity management of PBSA to the cultural depth of Homestay, we define the unique offer and trade-offs of each modern format.

Part 3: Solving the Crisis: Why Partnerships are Essential: These new models solve critical market gaps—from well-being to supply shortages—making them vital, risk-mitigating partners for university growth and student retention.

Hope through education: Why Ukrainian children’s future matters to the world
Thought Leadership Presentation
Presenter
Tetiana Novytska
Tetiana Novytska
Tetiana Novytska is the CEO of the Children of Heroes Foundation, one of Ukraine’s fastest-growing charitable organizations, supporting over 14,000 children who have lost one or both parents due to the war. Leading the foundation amid a full-scale invasion, Tetiana focuses on turning compassion into long-term impact — building sustainable programs in education, psychological care, and community development that help children regain stability and hope. With over two decades of leadership experience across the private and nonprofit sectors, she is dedicated to creating opportunities that help every child realize their potential.
CEO, Children of Heroes Charity Fund

Since 2022, the Children of Heroes Foundation has been providing long-term support to Ukrainian children who have lost one or both parents as a result of the war. Today, it cares for nearly 15,000 children, and this number continues to grow.

This presentation opens with an overview of the current and long-term realities facing Ukrainian children who have lost one or both parents due to the war. Using this case study as a backdrop, we argue that access to education for these children is far more than just a fundamental right, it is a strategic investment in the future - both in terms of rebuilding societies shattered by war and in safeguarding democracy.

We then look at how the Children of Heroes Foundation combines educational support, psychological rehabilitation, and community development to secure a brighter future for these children. With a focus on real stories of transformation, we show how international educational opportunities help children regain confidence, experience emotional healing, and set new life goals.

Finally, we demonstrate how the global community can contribute—through partnerships, scholarships, and advocacy—to ensure these children’s future is filled with dignity and opportunity.

The dominance of the 'Big Four' is giving way to a new geography of student mobility. Challenged by rising costs and policy shifts, traditional markets are yielding ground as Asia transforms from a major source region to a global education hub.

On this panel, we’ll explore the strategic factors fueling Asia’s rising appeal. The presence of 8 East-Asian destinations in the QS latest Top 20 student city ranking, for example, highlights the region's blend of high-quality education and relative affordability. Fueled by ambitious government policies and search data showing a dramatic surge in demand for the "Asian Tigers," the shift East is now undeniable.

On this panel, we’ll discuss:

  • How affordability, rankings, and proactive national policies are driving student choice over historical dominance.
  • Analyzing successful enrollment strategies by key players (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan) to diversify student cohorts.
  • The spike in interest from key sending markets like India and the implications for global mobility.
  • How institutions must adjust their strategies and value propositions to compete in this East-shifting market.
