ICEF About Memberships

ICEF is a member of the following associations and organisations.

EnglishUSA is the only organisation in the United States that includes all types of intensive English programs (IEPs). With a membership of over 450 accredited IEPs, it is the largest membership organisation specifically serving and supporting IEPs in the United States. EnglishUSA supports the professional development of IEP leaders and staff, upholds professional standards for IEPs, and increases the visibility of IEPs in the United States. ICEF has been an Associate Member since 1991 supporting EnglishUSA’s mission, vision, and values.

ALTO is the global forum for agents, schools, and language travel associations, providing a platform for members to network, create trading opportunities, and act on issues facing the industry. Membership is open to the leaders of organisations and businesses involved in language or educational travel. Formed at the World Youth & Student Travel Conference (WYSTC) in Miami in 1998, ALTO has over the years fallen under the umbrella of several prestigious organisations such as the International Student Travel Confederation (ISTC), the Federation of International Youth Travel Organisations (FIYTO), and the World Youth Student & Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation. In 2011, ALTO started a new era as an independent professional association, and continues to thrive with a growing membership base. ICEF has been a member and active suppporter of ALTO since its foundation in 1998.

The British Educational Travel Association (BETA) is the umbrella body representing producers and suppliers of youth, student and educational travel related products. BETA has raised awareness of this important yet previously under-represented sector, and created an environment that encourages enhanced trading between organisations and better access to government departments and other public sector bodies. ICEF has been a member of BETA since 2005.

The EAIE is a non-profit, member-led organisation serving individuals actively involved in the internationalisation of their institutions through a combination of training, conferences, and knowledge acquisition and sharing. The EAIE has a committed membership of more than 1 800 international education professionals – from rectors to professors to international exchange coordinators. ICEF has been a member of the EAIE since 1991.

JAFSA is an association comprised of universities, individuals, and other entities including private firms as supporting members interested in facilitating the internationalisation of education in Japan and around the world. JAFSA serves its members by providing the support and advocacy necessary for its members and other similar public and private institutions in Japan, and by making efforts to achieve JAFSA’s mission of enhancing excellence in international education in Japan. ICEF has been a member of JAFSA since 2005.

NAFSA: Association of International Educators is the world’s largest nonprofit association dedicated to international education and exchange. NAFSA’s 10 000 members are located at more than 3 500 institutions worldwide, in over 150 countries.

NAFSA’s Global Partnership Program is comprised of international education’s best, most innovative organisations. NAFSA’s partners work with thousands of professionals around the world to help promote and administer international student exchange of millions of students every year. The Global Partnership Program is a key tool that helps forge strategic alliances with the broader NAFSA membership and other organisations engaged in the field. ICEF has been a NAFSA member since 1991 and a supporting partner at the Global Advocate level since 2005.

The World Youth Student and Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation is a global not-for-profit membership organisation dedicated to promoting and developing opportunities for young travellers and the youth, student, and educational travel industry that serves them. The WYSE network consists of more than 600 members from 120 countries. ICEF joined WYSE Travel Confederation in 2002.
