Since 2007, ICEF has partnered with i-graduate to conduct an annual survey on the opinions of education agents about the international education industry. The survey aims to discover why students choose specific destination countries and institutions, and what support agents expect from their educator partners: In other words, the information that educational institutions need to market themselves effectively to students and the agents who represent them.

Because education agents are a primary source of international student recruitment, they are able to provide important insights about the industry.

The information gathered helps educators to provide agents with better products and support and sheds light on key aspects of international student recruitment, including:

  • How many students do agents around the world recruit per year? And for what specific programmes in which countries?
  • What is most important to students when choosing a study destination? An education institution?
  • What kinds of incentives and support do institutions provide to agents?
  • How can education institutions market themselves more efficiently?
  • What services do agents provide to students and which ones do they charge for?
  • A breakdown of results according to programme and sector, including schools, higher education courses, language courses, vocational education and training programmes, MBA Programmes and work & travel
