Growth, diversity and new participants mark the ICEF Dubai Workshop

The ICEF Dubai Workshop, held on February 6-8 at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, hosted 421 participants representing 301 organisations worldwide, a six percent increase from last year. Over the course of the two-and-a-half-day event, educators, student recruitment agents and education industry service providers from 44 countries conducted 4 014 face-to-face business meetings to form new partnerships, nurture existing ones, and to learn from each other. Year after year ICEF workshops attract new industry professionals, and this year was no exception, with 16% of all event participants attending their first-ever ICEF workshop.

There was a growth in educator representation this year, with a total of 183 educators from 23 countries, including many from the UK, USA, Canada, Malaysia, and Turkey. “I have done this event six times in the past, and it always helps me to find new contacts, establish existing ones and to find out what market trends there are at the moment. This is a region which is important to us, and this is always an event we participate in,” said David Arrowsmith, inlingua Cheltenham, UK.

This year, 202 education agents came from 26 countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, India, Nigeria, and Pakistan. Of all participating agents, an impressive 43% attended their first ICEF Dubai Workshop. “ICEF is very well organised. The meetings went very smoothly, and it was an excellent opportunity to meet quality professionals. ICEF events make the world truly more accessible, and education technology has diffused barriers and distances!” said Shanthi Ramachandran, IQ Education Consultants, UAE.

The 2017 ICEF Dubai Workshop commenced with an exciting seminar programme that brought additional value to the participants by educating them on the recent industry developments and trends. Some of the topics included “The Impact of Social Media on Education in the Middle East”, “The Pace of Adoption of International Student Recruitment Agencies by US Universities”, “Study Opportunities in the UK”, “Study in Germany – Your Way into German Universities”, and “Student Recruitment in the MENA Region”.

The next ICEF Dubai Workshop will take place in February 2018 at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai, UAE. Visit for more information.
