Connecting educators around the world with scholarship providers from the Middle East

On 18 – 19 February 2024, the second ICEF Middle East Scholarship Summit will take place in Muscat, under the patronage of the Sultanate of Oman, and providing a unique opportunity for selected international educators to network with the largest gathering of scholarship providers and universities sending students abroad from the Middle East. As befits a groundbreaking summit, the event boasts a high profile line up of speakers, and you can view the full programme here.

Held immediately after the 17th edition of ICEF Dubai,  the summit provides an unparalleled opportunity to engage with key policy and decision makers from 100+ global scholarship organisations, each of whom are crucial contacts for educators hoping to make further inroads into this expanding, yet complex regional education sector. With limited spaces available, participation will be by application and invitation only.

Meeting one-to-one and networking with organisations from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE will enable international education institutions to attract funded students from this rapidly growing market segment, where forming personal connections and engaging with the local culture is essential.

Motivated by ambitious national Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), these organisations control in excess of US$20 billion in scholarship funds and are embarking on an unprecedented drive to provide funding for internships, pathway/vocational programmes, life-long learning opportunities, professional training programmes, language studies, and university scholarships for hundreds of thousands of students studying abroad each year.

Event Schedule

Opening the summit on day one, will be a programme of panel discussions and round tables featuring regional leaders and experts, as well as leading voices from the UK, USA, and beyond. These guided debates will give you the opportunity to engage in discussions with heads of scholarship organisations, government ministers, university representatives, Middle East experts, and sector peers – all with the full support of the Omani Education Ministry.

Day two will give you the opportunity to build a personalised programme of up to 16 in-person meetings with scholarship providers, selected to support your recruitment objectives. The refreshment breaks, lunches, and networking dinners will provide additional informal networking opportunities.
