ICEF Central Asia Focus
The 4th annual ICEF Central Asia Focus gives international educators and service providers the opportunity to meet top-quality student recruitment agents from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and all the main cities of Kazakhstan in one practical location.
Central Asia currently makes up 2% of global outbound student mobility and is quickly increasing its importance in the international student market. Steady economic growth averaging 8% per annum over the last decade, and Kazakhstan’s entry to the Bologna Process in 2010, have paved the way for the country to expand its educational infrastructure and encourage students to travel abroad.
In Central Asian culture, parents and government play a crucial role in a student's decision-making process. This means that it is essential for education institutions to establish personal contacts and networks with agents, service providers, as well as government bodies. The ICEF Central Asia Focus is the perfect opportunity to establish firm links and partnerships with the region's best student recruitment professionals.
All agents attending ICEF Central Asia are carefully selected and are required to pass ICEF’s strict screening process. Agents must provide multiple references from current business partners, as well as proof of ethical business practices and a successful track record of placing students at international institutions.
The ICEF Central Asia Focus is scheduled around ICEF Moscow and the ICEF Ukraine Focus, allowing participants to target their marketing efforts in Russia, Ukraine, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus in one trip. Places at this event are strictly limited.

Pre- and post-event activities
Agent receptions are excellent ways for you to promote your institution or association to agents registered for the event.
FAM Tour guidelines:
- FAM tour organisers may determine all logistics, conditions and costs associated with their tour, including which event participants are accepted to join, and which are not.
- ICEF will not get involved in the organisation of FAM tours, but simply ensure relevancy for event participants as well as an equal representation of tours to all delegates.
- All delegates interested in attending FAM tours will be asked to make direct contact with the tour organiser. Organisers are responsible for confirming or declining acceptance directly with participants.
- FAM tour organisers wishing to promote their tour through ICEF are required to submit a proposal. All proposals are subject to approval by ICEF.
- FAM tours may only be offered outside of event related activities and times.
- Only organisations attending the event may meet and host other event participants. We do not wish to encourage non-registered institutions to access and benefit from meeting potential business partners that event registered organisations have paid to meet.
Reception guidelines:
Receptions allow you to create a memorable experience for agents while reinforcing your brand. Inviting agents you wish to target lets you make meaningful and focused connections in a relaxed and fun environment.
- Reception organisers may determine all logistics, conditions, and costs associated with their event, including acceptance criteria for event participants and other business partners.
- ICEF will not get involved in organising receptions, but will ensure receptions are relevant for event participants and offer an equal number of receptions to all delegates.
- All event participants interested in attending a reception will be asked to make direct contact with the organiser. Organisers are responsible for confirming or declining acceptance directly with participants.
- Reception organisers wishing to promote their event through ICEF are requested to provide information as outlined in the paragraph below. Receptions may only be offered outside of event-related activities and times.
- Only organisations attending the event may meet and host other event participants. We do not encourage non-registered institutions to benefit from meeting potential business partners that registered organisations have paid to meet.
Promotion
Once your proposal has been accepted by ICEF, we will promote your event to assist you in attracting the quantity and variety of agents desired.
Your reception will be listed in this section of the website along with your contact details, hyperlinks, and promotional materials. ICEF will also promote your event to all agents attending once their registration has been approved, as well as in numerous follow-up communications prior to the event.
Please provide ICEF with a website hyperlink and/or a brochure/flyer/invitation (pdf format) containing the following information:
- Name of activity
- Host name and contact details
- Details of the event including programme, location, date and time, details of catering and transportation arrangements, invited target groups/individuals, and the maximum number of participants
Please note: Proposals received less than four weeks prior to the event will be listed on the website but will no longer be published in any other agent communications.
