{"id":116918,"date":"2022-10-20T11:13:27","date_gmt":"2022-10-20T09:13:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.icef.com\/academy\/?page_id=116918"},"modified":"2025-02-05T12:55:16","modified_gmt":"2025-02-05T11:55:16","slug":"exam-requirements-webcam-setup-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.icef.com\/academy\/exam-requirements-webcam-setup-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Exam Requirements &#8211; Webcam Setup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The following items are&nbsp;required to sit the&nbsp;<strong>QEAC Certification Exam<\/strong>&nbsp;online:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A&nbsp;<strong>web camera.<\/strong> Please note that the web camera can either be&nbsp;built-in to your monitor&nbsp;OR it can&nbsp;be mounted on top of your monitor. <\/li><\/ul><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Google Chrome, FireFox or Safari (Version 11 and above) web browser.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>BEFORE THE EXAM<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Suitable location to sit the&nbsp;exam<\/strong><\/p><p>You may sit your exam anywhere where you are guaranteed&nbsp;to have a quiet space free from distractions and disturbances. This could be at home, in the office, or in a quiet library.<\/p><p>It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in a quiet location for the duration of the exam. You should be in a location where other people will not be roaming around behind you. This is something to keep in mind if testing in a&nbsp;shared office.<\/p><p><strong>Test your camera<\/strong><\/p><p>To ensure that your face will be clearly visible on the web camera during the exam, prepare yourself in advance by following the below points:&nbsp;<\/p><p><strong>Web cam picture<\/strong><\/p><p>Check that the web cam picture is in focus. If your picture is out-of-focus,&nbsp;please adjust your web camera settings. &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p><p>Regardless of sitting the exam&nbsp;in the daytime or at night time, the picture being captured&nbsp;must not be&nbsp;too dark or too light. &nbsp;<\/p><p><em><strong>Day<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Find a room with plenty of natural&nbsp;light, but do not sit with a window behind you. Bright sunlight coming through a window behind you may conceal your face on the web camera. &nbsp;<\/p><p><em><strong>Night<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Do not sit the exam with a&nbsp;bright ceiling light or lamp behind you. Bright light shining at your web cam&nbsp;may conceal your face on the camera. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p><p><strong>Positioning&nbsp;of the web camera<\/strong><\/p><p>If your web&nbsp;cam&nbsp;is mountable, position it on your monitor so that it is directly facing you. Do not position the web camera so that it is capturing you from side-on. &nbsp;<\/p><p>Ensure that the web camera will capture your face from&nbsp;the neck upwards. Your entire face must be visible. Ensure that the position of it does not cut off part of your face. &nbsp;<\/p><p>If your web cam is built-in, adjust your monitor height if necessary so that the web cam is pointing at your face.<\/p><p><strong>Help&nbsp;us to identify you &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p><p>Think about assisting us to identify you against your formal ID photograph. Do not wear a hat or a beanie. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p><p>If the web cam footage captured during your exam attempt does not meet the above&nbsp;criteria, your exam attempt may be deemed&nbsp;<strong>invalid&nbsp;<\/strong>and you may lose the right to test again. If we are unable to identify you in the footage, we reserve the right to reject your exam attempt or to require you to test again.
