About this Workshop

The United States and Canada are top study destinations with broad international appeal across all educational sectors. Each year, an increasing number of North American institutions turn to agents to help them boost international enrollments and increase the quality of student applicants. The best place to find top-quality agents focused primarily on the US and Canada is the ICEF Miami Workshop.

In 2016 a total of 1 053 attendees conducted 10 057 pre-scheduled business meetings. Over three days 300 US and Canadian education institutions met with 332 international education agencies, from 66 countries.

All of the student recruitment agents that attend the ICEF Miami Workshop undergo ICEF’s strict selection and screening process – considered the most stringent in the industry. In addition to providing both detailed information about their business and references from current educator partners, agents must demonstrate an established focus on sending students to North America.

Prior to the event, educators are able to schedule up to 38 one-to-one business meetings with agents from all over the world online. The ICEF version of the eSchedule PRO meeting booking system allows educators to view comprehensive agent profiles, including the number of students sent to the US and Canada per education sector in the last 12 months. This information helps you identify and meet with the agents most relevant to you.

The ICEF Miami Workshop is an ideal opportunity for US and Canadian institutions to benefit from a large number of top quality recruiters committed to building lasting partnerships within North America.

FAM Tours & Receptions

Agent familiarisation (FAM) tours and receptions are excellent ways for you to gain exposure and promote your institution and / or association to workshop registered agents.

FAM tours allow you to take advantage of the large number of agents attending the workshop and attract them to visit your institution, campus and region. Effective FAM tours enable agents to increase their product knowledge and bring back first hand experience to potential students.

FAM Tour guidelines:

  • FAM tour organisers may determine all logistics, conditions and costs associated with their tour, including which workshop participants are accepted to join, and which are not.
  • ICEF will not get involved in the organisation of FAM tours, but simply ensure relevancy for workshop participants as well as an equal representation of tours to all delegates.
  • All delegates interested in attending FAM tours will be asked to make direct contact with the tour organiser. Organisers are responsible for confirming or declining acceptance directly with participants.
  • FAM tour organisers wishing to promote their tour through ICEF are required to submit a proposal. All proposals are subject to approval by ICEF.
  • FAM tours may only be offered outside of workshop related activities and times.
  • Only organisations attending the workshop may meet and host other workshop participants. We do not wish to encourage non-registered institutions to access and benefit from meeting potential business partners that workshop registered organisations have paid to meet.

Reception guidelines:

Receptions allow you to host agents in a memorable way while reinforcing your brand. Inviting the agents that you wish to target gives you the chance to make meaningful and focused connections in a relaxed and fun environment.

  • Reception organisers may determine all logistics, conditions and costs associated with their event, including which workshop participants and other business partners are accepted to join, and which are not.
  • ICEF will not get involved in the organisation of receptions, but simply ensure relevancy for workshop participants as well as an equal representation of receptions to all delegates.
  • All workshop participants interested in attending a reception will be asked to make direct contact with the reception organiser. Organisers are responsible for confirming or declining acceptance directly with participants.
  • Reception organisers wishing to promote their event through ICEF are requested to provide information as outlined on the ICEF website.

“ICEF Miami is always the peak of my recruitment season. I’ve been all over the world and there are no other agent workshops like Miami - ICEF is the industry standard in my book! I always weigh the value proposition of ICEF and there is no doubt my ROI is exceeded every year.” - Chris McGary, Foxcroft Academy, USA.

“We are very happy with the quality of this conference and will attend another ICEF event in the future. As a first time attendee, I have been very impressed at the level of attention paid by the ICEF staff in making this conference valuable. I am very happy with the majority of the agents we scheduled appointments with, and the events, especially the seminars, have been incredibly beneficial and informative.” - Brian Bell, St. Johns Military Academy, USA.

“ICEF was a great help! They set me up with an incredible coach, which was extremely helpful. She made sure we were prepared for everything. The 20%- 30%-50% model she taught us was a game changer for me. I know now how to make my connections successful!” - Nicole Maddox, University of South Carolina Beaufort, USA.

“Great experience for my first ICEF. I found the scheduling & support of the ICEF team to be fantastic. I will certainly be looking to attend events in the future.” - Bob Shields, The English Language Centre - Western University, Canada.

“This was a great event. There was enough diversity that I was able to carry out my strategy for meeting agents from a specific country. The agents I met were interested in forming a partnership and we have plans for future meetings and events as follow up. Attending this ICEF was the first step in moving into a new market and I am very pleased with the contacts that I made.” - Judy Hershman, Vernon School District #22, Canada.
