ICEF celebrates 500 graduates of the Canada Course for Education Agents (CCEA)

30 Oct 2017 / Press Releases

ICEF celebrated a significant milestone today as it announced the 500th agent to graduate from its Canada Course for Education Agents (CCEA). The CCEA provides agents with a firm foundation in the benefits, structure, and organisation of Canada’s education system. It also provides agents with the resources they need to advise students seeking to study in Canada.

According to the 2017 ICEF i-graduate Agent Barometer survey, Canada is recognised as the most popular study destination globally, with 92% of agents rating Canada as either “very attractive” or “attractive” for students. The same study also revealed that 74% of agents reported increasing student demand for study programmes in Canada.

“We are proud to mark this milestone of 500 Canada Course Graduates,” said ICEF’s Director, Agent Relations Tiffany Egler. “Education agents play an important role in counselling and referring students to education providers both in Canada and around the world, so it’s great to see so many agents successfully completing this course. We see agents as essential to growing global student mobility and look forward to welcoming more agents from around the world as they develop their expertise in the Canadian market.”

Originally produced by ICEF and Canada’s Department for Foreign Affairs and International Trade in collaboration with the Canadian Consortium for International Education (CCIE), the CCEA is now jointly owned and operated by ICEF, Languages Canada, and the Canadian Association of Public Schools International (CAPS-i), with the support of the CCIE. The CCEA provides education agents with a general foundation in the education systems and processes in Canada as they apply to international students, including information on the various types of study programmes available, application processes, and fee and scholarship information.
