New Latin America Workshop Launches in Sao Paulo
Sao Paulo, Brazil The first-ever ICEF Latin America Workshop will be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil from September 30 to October 2. "The new Sao Paulo workshop recognises the growing importance of the region in international student markets," says ICEF General Manager Ruediger Laub. "Our goal is to respond to the clear market demand in this area. Major destination countries, including the US, Canada, and Australia, are reporting dramatic growth in Latin American enrolments. At the same time, we have seen a 47% increase over the last two years alone in the numbers of Latin American agents attending ICEF Workshops worldwide." Sao Paulo is the world's fourth-largest city and a major economic centre. ICEF projects that half of the participating agents will come from all over Brazil, with the balance drawn from countries throughout the region, including Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Given that many educators are still building or expanding agent networks in the region, ICEF's industry-leading agent selection processes will play an especially important role in the success of the Sao Paulo workshop. All participating agents undergo a thorough screening process and reference check to help ensure that agent-educator meetings at the workshop will lead to productive, long-term working relationships. ICEF has established a new office in Sao Paulo, led by Karin Florez, to support these quality selection processes for participating agents, and to provide additional on-the-ground planning and logistical support for the ICEF Latin America Workshop.
