Networking the Americas
Space is booking up quickly for the ICEF Americas Workshop; so don’t delay if you’re planning to join us in Miami from December 3-5. The workshop features agents from throughout the Americas and around the world, with an expected 50% coming from Latin America, 20% from North America, and 30% from outside the region. Educators from more than 15 countries — from Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania — have registered to date.
The Americas continue to develop as an important “region of regional markets”. The United States is the world’s leading educational destination, and — as is the case with Canada — a major source of international students as well. While the majority of students from Mexico and South America choose to study in the US, there are also strong ties between Latin markets and the United Kingdom along with several other host countries in Western Europe. In many Latin American markets, demand has traditionally been concentrated on post-graduate programs. However, the demand for English language studies remains strong, both as an end in itself and as a preparation for higher education abroad. At the same time, growing secondary school enrollments are driving increasing demand for undergraduate programmes as well. Last year, 250 participants from 38 countries made the ICEF Workshop the international meeting place in the Americas. Complete details for this year's Miami workshop are available on the ICEF Americas Workshop page. |
